The Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies (SALISES), Soroptimist International of Chaguanas and the Institute for Gender and Development Studies (IGDS) present the Eliminating Violence Against Women Forum in commemoration of The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

The forum takes place from 10am. Panelists include:

  • Lynette Seebaran-Suite, Attorney-at-Law and Women’s Rights Activist
  • Asiya Mohammed, Founder and CEO, Conflict Women Ltd.
  • Wendell de Léon, Behaviour Change Therapist
  • Dr. Gabrielle Hosein, Head, IGDS

About the Forum

This Forum will look at issues such as:

  • Are there deeply rooted social norms that perpetuate male control over women?
  • Do we concentrate more on seeking remedies for survivors of domestic violence rather than eliminating the root cause of such violence?
  • Can we dream of a world without domestic violence?
