The Faculty of Medical Sciences (FMS) presents the following public lectures on April 10 at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC):

  • Noon to 1pm | A Public Guest Lecture by Visiting Professor Craig Stephen, DVM, PhD, CEO Canadian Wildlife Cooperative, Professor at Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan in OneHealth on the topic, Nature as the Foundation for Health and Sustainability at Amphitheatre B.

About the Guest Lecture

The impact of the environment on human health, and the impact of human behaviour on the environment are concepts that are often discussed as separate issues.  During a visit to the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Professor Stephen will present a lecture to highlight these concepts as they relate to sustainability of life. It will create awareness of the circular impact of human and environmental health and the sustainability of each.

  • 5pm | The Ministry of Health and the Faculty of Medical Sciences present the Joint Public Lecture on the topic, Integrating Approaches to Antimicrobial Resistance: Organisms and Originations by Dr. Ian Hosein, MD, MBA, FRCPath, FCAP, Associate Medical Director, Director of Infection Prevention and Control, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, United Kingdom at Amphitheatre A.
