About the Budget Forum

IGDS has undertaken a project to develop a tool to comprehensively integrate a gender perspective into deliberations on the national budget. One of the main objectives of this project is to engage in sector-specific research, to make evident the ways in which the budget is translated into people’s lived realities at the level of the household.

The objectives of this Pre-Budget Forum are to create visibility for this ongoing research project; deepen national support for a Gender Justice Scorecard; expand media, private sector and civil society partnerships and cross-faculty collaboration toward producing and disseminating gender analyses of fiscal policy; and host a relevant and accessible cross-sectoral, gender sensitive, research-based pre-budget forum which can engender post-budget analysis.
