Confucius Institute Day - China Kaleidoscope!

The Confucius Institute presents its 4th annual Confucius Institute Day under the theme China Kaleidoscope.

The event takes place September 29 from 9.30am to 2.30pm. There will also be a special guest lecture on Understanding Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) 了解中医 at 5pm.

Confucius Institute Day Activities

Travel in China

  • Learn about famous sites and different provinces in China, while exploring the adventures undertaken by local Trinbagonians who visited China. Claim a prize in a treasure hunt. Test your knowledge on China at Trivia Corner and leave a message at the Great Wall replica!

Study in China

  • Interested in studying in China? Attend the Study in China lectures to learn about opportunities to visit China on short-term and long-term study through partial and full scholarships.

Experience Chinese Culture

  • Unleash your creative side in the Experience Chinese Culture mini expo! Participants will be exposed to Chinese culture through four main activities:  Chinese Calligraphy, Chinese arts and crafts, Tai Chi Fan and Chinese clothing. Walk away with your very own calligraphy piece, make friendship bracelets using Chinese knotting techniques,  create fantastic paper decorations using Chinese paper cutting techniques, mimic the fast yet elegant movements of Tai Chi Fan or strike a pose in traditional Chinese clothing at the instant photo-booth!

There will also be performances throughout the day, including a Mongolian dance by the Chinese Embassy and Tai Chi demonstrations.
