The Department of Preclinical Sciences, Faculty of Medical Sciences and The Midwifery and Nursing Research Society of Trinidad and Tobago Invites All Health Care Professionals and Others interested in Tobacco Control Strategies to a Free Open Lecture on ‘SMOKE-FREE ENVIRONMENTS AS A TOBACCO CONTROL STRATEGY’ by Dr. Joaquin Barnoya MD; MPH – Research Director, Cardiovascular Unit of Guatemala.

ERIC WILLIAMS MEDICAL SCIENCES COMPLEX.

The lecture will focus on the pathophysiology of Cardiovascular Disease and second hand smoke. It is geared towards creating a greater awareness of the harmful effects of not just smoking, but second-hand smoke among health professionals. Research has shown that quit smoking interventions by public health professionals have been quite successful in promoting smoking cessation.
