Event Date(s): 23/06/2018 - 24/06/2018

Location: the green space between the Main Library and Engineering, UWI, St Augustine

The Trinidad and Tobago Amateur Radio Society invites you to Amateur Relay Radio League (ARRL) Field Day 2018, beginning on June 23 at 2pm and ends on June 24 at 5pm

Experience the science, skill and technologies behind Amateur Radio and learn about its role in providing emergency electronic communications for disaster management.

The Amateur Radio service also known as “Ham Radio” has been around a while. During this time, it has developed into an international community of licensed operators, using the airwaves via various means of communications technology. Amateur Radio frequencies are the last usable radio spectrum, whereby persons can freely experiment with wireless communications.

The ARRL Field Day will feature demonstrations of the science, skills and service that is Ham Radio and display an array of equipment and technologies as mediums of public service and community outreach.

Despite the development of very complex, modern communications systems, Amateur Radio has provided communications in crises and at events such as marathons, bike-a-thons and fund-raisers.
