DCFA presents The New Directors Forum: A Festival of Plays

The UWI Department of Creative & Festival Arts (DCFA), presents The New Directors Forum: A Festival of Plays. 

The Annual Student Theatre production series will feature student directors pursuing the BA Theatre Arts and writing the course THEA 3203 - Directing II, taught by Dr. Dani Lyndersay. Over the course of three months each student works rigorously and tirelessly to direct and organise these productions. 

DCFA invites all to these performances, at the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) at The UWI, St Augustine, from Friday November 23 to Saturday November 24, 2018, at 6pm and 8pm and on Sunday 25th November at 4pm & 6pm.

This year's edition of the Festival of Plays will feature the following six (6) plays by the respective student directors:

Friday 23 November:  6pm | Keisha Julien's " What do you expect from me when" (Directed by Christopher Best) 8pm | Sarah Kane's "4:48 Psychosis" (Directed by Shontel Williams)

Saturday 24 November: 6pm | Jean Paul Sartre's "The Respectful Prostitute" (Directed by Dominique Friday) 8pm | Luci Hammans' "Who Diablesse" (Directed by Christian Christian-Kendahl)

Sunday 25th November:  4pm | "Akini Mata", translated and adapted by TW Harrison and James Simmons (Directed by Shanelle Cielto) 6pm | Ralph Maharaj's "Cynthia Sweetness" (Directed by Kerise-Marie Rawlins)

 

For the price of 1 ticket each audience member will be able to see 2 Plays.

Tickets cost $60 for adults and $40 for students.

Festival passes are also available at $150 granting you access to all nights of the Festival.
