The Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS) hosts a Book Launch of Black Women, Academe, and the Tenure Process in the United States and the Caribbean by Dr. Talia Esnard, Sociology, UWI. and Dr. Deirdre Cobb-Roberts, University of South Florida.
Find out more about the meanings, experiences, and challenges faced by Black women faculty that are either on the tenure track or have earned tenure on February 7 from 1 to 4pm at the FSS Lounge. This event is free and open to the public.
Speakers include: Professor Jessica Byron, Director, Institute of International Relations (IIR), UWI and Dr. Vonzell Agosto, University of South Florida followed by a presentation by the authors.
About the book
It is a way of speaking through the use and implication of comparative research. It creates a useful platform for thinking through comparative research, for advancing the scholarship on identity and tenure in the US and the Caribbean, and for promoting comparative research that foster international collaboration.
