Abstract
Trinidad and Tobago’s Government implemented drastic measures to curtail COVID-19 infections following the first reported local case on March 12, 2020.
This study assessed the public’s knowledge, attitude, and practice towards COVID-19 post-lockdown. Lockdown measures began on 16th March 2020. Data collection occurred from May 25 to June 6, 2020 via a validated questionnaire.
Respondents were largely female (65.7%), 25-34 years old (27.7%), and well educated (70.9%). Most (87.2%) agreed that Trinidad and Tobago could win the battle against COVID-19 (411, 83.2%), although 95.1% acknowledged that COVID-19 threatens economic stability. Efforts should be made to reduce disease related stigma and the gap between knowledge and desirable practices.
