The Psychoeducational Diagnostic and Intervention Clinic (PEDIC) at the School of Education, hosts an ONLINE WORKSHOP SERIES titled, Reading: Contextualizing the reading crisis. 

Online Workshio #3: Effective teacher/parent talk to build word consciousness 

Date: March 9^th, 2021 | Cost - $200 

Topics to be covered:

- Establishing effective teacher/parent talk that builds word consciousness 

- Support for word study when working with both novice and experienced sorters 

- Critical principles of word study instruction and questions that guide critical thinking during word study.  

- Comparative analysis of questioning and responses that build students’ ability to notice and to think about words. The session will feature an opportunity for parents and teachers to develop a script to use with given word sorts.
