The UWISTA Artists & Writers Society invites you to join their 2021 Symposium, “Resistance and Resilience: Shaping Identities in the Caribbean” this Friday April 16, at 5: pm
This Symposium aims to examine the dynamism Caribbean poetics have created in society, through the expertise of speakers and presenters, whose works attest to a disruption of colonial hegemony and its legacy; whilst concurrently creating a Caribbean sense of identity. It will seek to highlight the forms of resistance and resilience, in both formal and informal settings. The symposium extends an invitation to poeticize the future, by examining exemplary Caribbean models which have prioritized human solidarity, as a means of surviving both local and global adversities in the 21st century.
