The St. Augustine Academy of Sport (SAAS) will be hosting a virtual discussion about Sports Injury on Monday 26th April, 2021 at 8 pm. Featured speakers are Dr. Kevin ‘Gwyn’ Jones, (President of the Jamaica Association of Sports Medicine), Dr. Anyl Gopeesingh, (Sports and Exercise Medicine Physician) and Dr. Sa'eed Bawa  
 
Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Food and Agriculture. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to have an impact on sporting events globally, The St. Augustine Academy of Sport remains committed to connecting with athletes from the junior to elite levels to share information on various topics, in an effort to deepen the understanding of issues related to the future of sports. Dr. Sa'eed Bawa currently holds the position of a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Food and Agriculture, The UWI, where he has been practising for the past 7 years. Before then, he was an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Human Nutrition, Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Poland. He's a graduate of Warsaw University of Life Sciences and holds Master's and PhD degrees from that university. He's currently the coordinator of the Human and Nutrition Dietetics Programme at the Faculty of Food and Agriculture, The UWI. Dr. Bawa is an active member of many nutrition organisations worldwide, including Community “Nutrition and Chronic Non-communicable Diseases” of the United Nations Standing Committee on Nutrition, Chairperson of the Committee on Exercise and Sports Nutrition as well as Nutritional Oncologyof the  Polish Association of Dietitians, European Federation of the Association of Dietitians (Active participant in the program “Obesity Prevention in Schoolchildren''), Expert/reviewer of many food and nutrition journals. He's authored and co-authored more than 100 journal articles, monographs and book chapters.
