About the Speaker - Pedro graduated in Management and Business Administration and holds a Master of Science in Marketing and Strategic Management. He has been working in the sport and event industry for over 20 years, working internationally, managing, and motivating large multicultural teams towards successful deliveries.

He has held several top managerial positions involving the planning and implementation of mega sport events such as European Football Championships and other UEFA competitions. In addition, he has worked on 4 FIFA World Cups, a Rugby World Cup, an Asian Cup and the IOC Summer Olympics. He was appointed Tournament Director for the FIFA 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with a large focus on early-stage planning and budgeting in order to prepare and deliver an integrated tournament operational master plan. 

In 2015, Pedro returned to Portugal to become the Secretary General of the Portuguese Football League in charge of all operations. In 2018, he became an international independent sport and events consultant with clients like UEFA, FIFA, AFC, CAF, the Portuguese League, the Portuguese Football Federation and other football associations. His consultancy projects focus on topics including governance, strategy, finances, competition and event management, operational readiness and football operations, marketing and fan engagement, programme and risk management of events as well as its implementation.

Finally, Pedro regularly works as a guest lecturer to contribute and share his knowledge on the sport and event industries.
