All academic staff are invited to the UWI Guardian Virtual Premium Open Lecture 2021. For the first time in over 20 years the event will be held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year’s Lecture, “Navigating the Realm of the Electronic Classroom: Creating an Effective Culture for Innovation and Change” will occur on Thursday, September 30 at 5 p.m. live on The UWI St Augustine YouTube channel.   

This lecture will be presented by Dr. Nancy Gleason, Director, Hilary Ballon Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, and Associate Professor in Practice, Political Science, New York University Abu Dhabi,  and is intended to guide educators and administrators involved in education, in  

1. Creating an effective culture for virtual class environments  
2. Enhancing engagement through experiential learning, alternative assessments 
3. Strengthening their online presence 
4. Promoting their wellbeing in a remote context.
