The Sociology Unit invites members of the campus community to its Open Forum on Black Women and Singleness: A Sociological Consideration with guest speaker Dr. Val Bernard-Allan. The Forum will be held on Monday, October 25 from 5 p.m. via Zoom.

Speaker bio:

Dr. Val Bernard-Allan is a sociologist lecturing at Dauphine university /London. She is currently involved in different initiatives aimed at bringing sociology into the black community as one critical lens for encouraging black community development in western contexts. She works with Black women who attend a 5 month development course, which addresses spirituality & sociology through a postcolonial lens.
