About the Speaker - Brent Rahim has over 20 years’ experience in the football industry, both as player and an administrator, most recently in the Technical Division and Member Association Division of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (“FIFA”), with responsibility for the development of Football, Futsal and Beach Soccer within FIFA’s 211 member associations. He also spearheaded 40 of FIFA’s Beach Soccer and Futsal Coaching Instructors. He holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Connecticut (2000), a Master’s degree in Sport Management and the Business of Football (MSC), with merit, from Birkbeck University of London (2008) and the FIFA Master - International Master in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport (2011).
His career as a professional footballer began in Trinidad and Tobago where he played for the national team and amounted an impressive 49 senior international football appearances and was a part of the Trinidad and Tobago senior national team that qualified for the FIFA World Cup Germany 2006. At the University of Connecticut, he captained the Men’s Soccer Team, which won the National Championship in 2000. As a professional footballer, he played for some well-known clubs in Europe such as Levski Sophia (Bulgaria) where he won the Bulgarian First League and Cup and West Ham United (England).
His passion is for football development and management to which he continues to give his time as a consultant, specializing in Football, Futsal and Beach Soccer.
