An Engagement with the Vice-Chancellor

Event Date(s): 14/07/2022

The UWI is seeking to monetize its strong international reputation by expanding its educational goods and services to a global market. To achieve this, it has been proposed that The UWI Open Campus is rebranded, re-engineered and commercialised to become The UWI Global Campus. In addition, a separate, for-profit, legal entity named the International School for Development Justice is also to be established within the Campus as the vehicle for the University’s global offerings—all this as part of our Triple A Strategy Phase 2.

Over several months a series of discussions have been held with Open Campus staff primarily on the rightsizing and repurposing for the Global Campus. The Vice-Chancellor wants to share the framework and plan for operations of The UWI Global Campus before the final proposal to University Council for approval  is presented later this month.

Staff will have the opportunity to give feedback and ask questions in an open exchange. The Vice-Chancellor  will be accompanied by:

  • Dr. Maurice D. Smith, University Registrar
  • Professor Francis O. Severin, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Principal, The UWI Open Campus
  • Professor Clive Landis, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Principal, The UWI Cave Hill Campus
  • Professor C. Justin Robinson, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Board for Undergraduate Studies and
  • Professor Densil A. Williams, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Academic, Industry Partnerships and Planning and Principal, The UWI Five Islands Campus

This engagement is exclusively for members of UWI staff.

To ensure the integrity of the participation,  pre-register to attend at bit.ly/opentoglobal.
