Trinidad and Tobago Chemistry Olympiad Prize-Giving & 2023 Launch

The Trinidad and Tobago Chemistry Olympiad (TTCO) is an initiative of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST)  and the Ministry of Education. The TTCO was officially launched on May 24th 2019 as part of the Science and Technology Week activities hosted by the FST. This National Chemistry Olympiad initiative was designed to:

  1. Identify the top performing students in chemistry and provide additional training and international exposure 

  2. Prepare a team of students to compete at all International Chemistry Olympiads (ICO) 

  3. Increase the interest in chemistry for secondary school students in Trinidad and Tobago

  4. To increase international recognition and exposure for our chemistry students

  5. Improve the level of chemistry education in secondary schools in Trinidad and Tobago

The TTCO is open to ALL Secondary School Students targeting specifically those students who have begun a formal period of Chemistry training (typically Forms 3 to 6).  The TTCO is open to all citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. Trinidad and Tobago is an official member of the International Chemistry Olympiad and will be preparing a team to compete in 2023 in Switzerland. In this regard, this prize-giving ceremony and 2023 launch will serve as a dual celebration of the 2022 National Chemistry Olympiad winners as well as kick off the 2023 Chemistry Olympiad 2023.

This event wll be hosted on Wednesday October 12 at 1 p.m. at the TLC Lecture Theatre E.
