The Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification Training is being offered as a Pre-Conference Event associated with the: IEM5-2022 Industrial Engineering and Management Conference: “Emerging Research and Practices in Engineering Resilience and Management”
The Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Course focuses on developing the learner’s understanding of the fundamental tools, concepts, and mindsets of Lean Six Sigma. This includes prioritizing and obtaining voice of the customer data, determining what to measure and how to measure it, analysing the root causes of problems, and implementing solutions that last.
After completing this course, participants should be able to:
-Communicate using Lean Six Sigma concepts.
-Think about the organisation as a collection of processes, with inputs that determine the output.
-Relate Lean Six Sigma concepts to the overall business mission and objectives.
-Use the concept of a Sigma Level to evaluate the capability of a process or organisation.
-Understand and apply the five step DMAIC model as a framework to organise process improvement activity.
-Employ a wide range of process improvement techniques within the DMAIC model.
-Recognise the organizational factors that are necessary groundwork for a successful Lean Six Sigma effort.
-Employ Six Sigma skills to lead a successful process improvement project delivering meaningful results to the organization.
Instructor:
Dr. Edgardo J. Escalante-Vázquez
Dr. Edgardo J. Escalante is a Professor Emeritus in Industrial Engineering at Tecnológico de Monterrey. He has also been a consultant in applied statistics, Six Sigma, problem solving, and quality and productivity improvement for 36 years, in México, North, South and Central América. Some of the companies he has worked as a consultant or instructor are General Motors, Carplastic, Rassini, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Xerox, Cummins, Nemak, General Electric Lighting, FEMSA and John Deere.
Dr. Escalante has a Ph.D. in management science from Lancaster University, a Master of Science degree in industrial engineering from the Ohio State University, the Diploma of Higher Studies in Sciences from L’Université de Rennes, and a BSc in Electronics and Communications Engineering from ITESM. He is also a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt from the ASQ, and a Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt from SigmaPro. He has written the books in Spanish: Six-Sigma, Design of Experiments, SPC and The Analysis and Improvement of Quality.
