Event Date(s): 04/11/2022 - 05/11/2022
Location: Faculty of Engineering, The UWI St. Augustine
The Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering invites you to be a part of the Fifth Industrial Engineering and Management Conference 2022(IEM5 - 2022), themed "Emerging Research and Practices in Engineering Resilience and Management”. Resilience’ is the ability to recover from setbacks, adapt well to change, and keep going in the face of adversity. As the world emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic, people should not lose sight of the resilience lessons that we have learned and build on it to be better prepared and confront future uncertainties. However, this requires a systemic approach to resilience. The pandemic provided several opportunities for researchers to study the resilience of the society and its systemic interactions at various levels given that the wellsprings of resilience are equally applicable to individuals, organisations, communities, and countries.
The IEM5-2022 conference provides a platform for researchers and practitioners from different disciplines to share impactful and use-inspired research on a range of topics including the lessons learned from the pandemic and ideas shaping the post-pandemic world. It seeks to communicate that not only can Industrial Engineering increase organisational daily performance, but it can also increase resilience to financial, physical and public health shocks. The Conference also aims to advance the theory of various engineering disciplines and management practices, and to identify recent developments and major challenges in meeting the diverse needs of the Caribbean region.
This conference will take place on 4 - 5 November 2022 | 8:30 a.m. – 5:30p.m.
