A Story is a Machine: An Interactive Storytelling Workshop with Amanda Zilla

Event Date(s): 10/11/2022

The UWI Film Programme Presents, A Story is a Machine: An Interactive Storytelling Workshop with Amanda Zilla on Thursday November 10 at 10 a.m. at the The UWI Film Programme Building

Story is at the heart of any good film. Finding a story to share is a journey, often not an easy one. Yet sharing experiences about our lives is immensely rewarding and may even reveal unexpected outcomes. Stories are important because they help us understand others and ourselves. However, telling a story isn’t as easy as it seems. It takes dedication to the craft, a willingness to learn and understand the different elements and techniques, and a heck of a lot of practice. This interactive workshop with Amanda Zilla likens the story to a machine. It will focus on how all the narrative elements are working in tandem to produce meaning.

This event will feature an informative lecture followed by an interactive workshop. All workshop participants are required to register and to have a story or concept for development during the workshop.
