SALISES Spotlight Series 2023 countinues its Spotlight Series this year featuring lectures from its associated fellows, showcasing their research in their field of expertise. Dr. Preeya Mohan, Senior Fellow, MPhil and PhD Program Coordinator, Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies, UWI STA kicks off this year’s series with an lecture on Implementing Nationally Determined Contributions: An Assessment of Climate Finance in Caribbean SIDS. This online lecture takes place on Friday March 03, 2023 at 10:00 am.
This lecture will explore the potential of climate finance to support Caribbean Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and their efforts in achieving their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement. It will consider whether Caribbean SIDS acknowledge a role for domestic financing and international and domestic fiscal policy reform within their NDCs, as a way to address climate change mitigation and adaption.
