The Grenada National Reparations Commission (GNRC) and The University of the West Indies have joined forces to host a Reparations Forum on Monday, February 27, 2023.

The event will be held at the Grenada Trade Centre from 11:30 a.m. and streamed live via UWItv on www.uwitv.org OR www.facebook.com/UWItv

In addition to addresses by Chairman of the Caricom Reparations Commission and Vice-Chancellor of The UWI, Professor Sir Hilary Beckles, as well as Chair of the GNRC, Arley Gill, BBC correspondent Laura Trevelyan whose ancestors had more than 1,000 slaves in the 19th Century, will also give remarks and a public apology on behalf of her family. Laura Trevelyan and members of her family have committed to giving £100,000 to establish a community fund for economic development that will be managed by The University of the West Indies.
