The Careers, Co-curricular and Community Engagement, Division of Student Services and Development is hosting their annual Volunteer Open Day (VOD) Thursday, March 23 afrom 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on the Venue: LRC Greens. This event is geared towards enhancing and promoting awareness of volunteer opportunities available to students and staff while supporting our communities in meeting their needs. Above all, volunteering provides the opportunity to give back and make a difference in the community. Volunteer opportunities promote holistic development and help persons to become more socially and culturally aware of themselves and the needs of the communities. With each opportunity, students acquire a range of skills and competencies including interpersonal communication, problem-solving and leadership development.

Accounting, agriculture, agribusiness, administrative support, animal care and rescue, art & visual arts, beach patrolling, business management, Coaching/mentorship/youth development, communication, construction, court monitoring/monitoring legislative developments, data entry, environmental protection and preservation, family law, fundraising, literacy & reading, finance, graphic design, Information Technology/website development, project management, providing support to terminally ill patients, social media management, social justice, social work, sporting programme, theatre & performing arts and teaching.
