Building Globally Competitive Businesses: An International Conference

Event Date(s): 17/03/2023

In an international economic environment propelled by innovation, and with the rapid pace of technological change and globalization, it is imperative that Trinidad and Tobago and, by extension, the region be more proactive in ensuring that we are included.

The effects of this globalised reality are apparent to us all in Trinidad and Tobago. We are immersed in transformational change that essentially alters how we live, work and relate to one another. The pandemic has amplified this change by speeding the adoption of digital technologies by several years. A sizeable number of companies have leveraged innovation and digital transformation to remain competitive and increase global impact; however, to be able to do this requires an appreciation of how these companies have been able to make what can be deemed a fundamental shift and take their businesses to the next level.

It is with these considerations in mind, the Caribbean Industrial Research Institute (CARIRI), a leading regional, technology-based institution, has opted to bring this critical conversation to the forefront.  Building Globally Competitive Businesses: An International Conference seeks to convene some of the best minds from countries across the globe to share information and experiences, including lessons learned.

It seeks to address urgent challenges faced by Trinidad and Tobago and, importantly, it also presents an opportunity to understand how businesses have been able to think global, but still act local.

This event will bring together business professionals, government officials, academics, non-governmental organisations, industry experts in various fields and individuals who can share and help to shape the way forward for the creation of globally competitive businesses in a post-pandemic dispensation.

This Conference will be a solution-oriented event, and attendees are expected to leave with actionable strategies and practices that they can implement in their organisations.

This Conference is being held in collaboration with the World Association of Industrial & Technological Research Organizations (WAITRO) and will be on Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Trinidad Hilton and Conference Centre from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m and we would like to invite you and your organisation to attend.
