On Thursday, May 25 at 6.30 p.m. the Faculty of Food and Agriculture, Department of Food Production will host their Virtual Stakeholder Meeting on the Agro Environmental Services.
This stakeholder engagement meeting is to provide information on various Agro-Environmental services available from the Department of Food Production to gardeners, crop and livestock farmers, agri-food industries and private businesses. These services are:
- the diagnosis of pests and diseases affecting crops and its management practices
- nutritional analysis of animal feed and stock
- soil testing and irrigation water quality testing for suitability of growing crops
In addition the agri-food safety services will be discussed.
The webinar will focus on providing guidelines to the stakeholders about the collection and submission of plant, soil and agri-food samples for analytical services. These services are delivered with an intent of promoting local food security through safe and sustainable cultivation of crops and growing of animals to benefit the region.
