H5P is an open source, community-driven technology and project which seeks to allow users to develop and share interactive HTML5 content. H5P makes it possible to design and embed interactive instructional media artifacts and elements into webpages, and in Learning Management Systems. The technology aims to facilitate sharing of accessible content and formats to include but not limited to formative quizzes (with immediate feedback), timelines, slide decks, images with clickable hotspots, and interactive videos. This workshop will introduce you to a range of H5P applications that are commonly used to support teaching and learning. During the workshop you will work individually and in groups to build H5P content in MyeLearning that you can reuse in your university courses.
Topics include:
1. H5P introduction – what is H5P?
2. Why Use H5P? 3. Uses of H5P in education
4. The different interactive activities created using H5P
5. Creating H5P content in Myelearning
Outcomes
Upon completion of this workshop, you will be able to:
1. Develop working understanding of h5P technology
2. Demonstrate understanding why H5P is used
3. Explore the various ways H5P is used to enhanced education
4. Examine the various uses of H5P in education
5. Add and create different h5P instructional activities in MyeLearning
