The Sir Arthur Lewis Institute for Social and Economic in collaboration with the Commonwealth Secretariat presents a webinar on the topic Empowering Peoples and Institutions – Youth Work, Youth Development and Celebrating the Legacy of Dr. Henry Charles. This webinar will be held on Friday, August 18 at 10 a.m. via the Zoom platform.
During his lifetime, Dr. Henry Charles was dubbed the “Godfather of Youth Work and Youth Development Studes”. He was a Citizen of St. Lucia, a gifted son of the Caribbean, and a recently minted PhD, earning his PhD from UWI, SALISES on the St. Augustine Campus. He had been a loyal supporter of the SALISES Virtual Forum Series and was a panellist during the 12th SALISES Virtual Forum, speaking on the Impact of the 2022/2023 Trinidad and Tobago National Budget from the perspective of young people. Dr. Charles transitioned on July 8th 2023. His death dealt a serious blow to the advancement of regional and global youth policy framing agendas. Dr. Charles had major international appeal and SALISES wishes to honour his life’s work and memory by hosting the 19th Virtual SALISES Forum in his honour
