On Saturday, September 30 the St Augustine Campus continues its 75th Anniversary celebrations with an Inaugural Panel Discussion, under the patronage of Mr Robert Bermudez, Chancellor of The UWI, on the topic Reflections on the Legacy of Eric Williams: Business and Development. This event will be hosted at the Eric Williams Memorial Library in Port-of-Spain and will begin at 6 p.m.
This Panel Discussion will explore the perspectives of leading business persons, economists and academics on how the business environment of today measures up to Dr. Williams' vision and how his legacy can be used to better project for the future. Pro Vice-Chancellor and Campus Principal, Professor Rose-Marie Belle Anotine will deliver remarks.The event will be moderated by Professor Rhoda Reddock and panelists will include:
- Mr. Robert Bermudez, Chancellor, The University of the West Indies
- Professor Bridget Brereton, Emerita Professor of History
- Mr. Gregory Aboud, President, Downtown Owners and Merchants Association (DOMA) & Director, Jimmy Aboud Textiles
- Mr. David Muhammed, Lecturer, Sociologist, Writer, Radio & TV Presenter, Director & Founder of the Black Agenda Project and Kwame Ture Centre
- Ms. Marina Salandy-Brown is the Bocas Lit Fest founder and Festival Director
- Mr. Nirad Tewarie, CEO, AMCHAM T&T
- Dr. Aakeil Murray Lecturer, History Department, (The UWI)
- Ms. Diane Seukeran, Former Member of Parliament for San Fernando West and Former Head of the South Trinidad Chamber of Commerce
