As a tribute to Aimé Césaire, the great poet from Martinique who died on Thursday 17th April 2008, the French Section of the Department of Liberal Arts, UWI, St. Augustine has organised a seminar, which will take place on Thursday 8th May, from 2:00 -4:00 p.m. in the Centre for Language Learning Auditorium, U.W.I. St Augustine.
The seminar will include readings from Césaire’s works, short video clips, and discussions led by U.W.I. lecturers on Césaire, his work and his legacy. Lecturers will also discuss their personal reactions to reading Césaire and their experiences of teaching his work.
