On Wednesday November 21, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. on UWITv, The University of the West Indies Global Institute for Climate-Smart and Resilient Development (GICSRD) and the Canada-Caribbean Institute (CCI) are organizing the GICSRD-CCI Forum to discuss the effectiveness of the Conference of the Parties (COP), an international platform for climate action. The virtual forum, titled "Should we COP out? COP 27 / COP 28 Canada and Caribbean perspectives," will examine the challenges and opportunities of COP in addressing climate change, especially in light of recent climate-related events in Canada and the Caribbean. It will bring together academics, government officials, NGOs, and stakeholders from both regions to raise awareness and promote collaboration for building resilient communities in the Caribbean. The event aims to address gaps and work towards a more sustainable future.
