This year, the UWI Arts Percussion Ensemble is proud to present the “Carol of the Drums.” Crash - a symbol of celebration of the excitement, laughter and heartfelt memories created and shared with dear friends and family this holiday season.
Celebrating 20 years, this concert brings back iconic Christmas carols such as Sleigh Ride, Carol of the Bells and more. The audience will enjoy the percussive rhythms of garbage cans, the melodic chimes of the tubular bells, and roll with the punches of the dramatic timpani.
This concert is a foot stomping experience that will have you on the edge of your chair as it features percussion instruments from around the world with a seasonal flair. The show features a varied and colourful repertoire presented by Director, Dr Jeannine Remy, and past and current student arrangers: Nathaniel Guerra, Abraham Ramdhan, Jaydon Kalipersad, and Gabrielle Tull.
Join the DCFA on December 6 at 6:00 p.m. at the Cheesman Building, Department of Creative and Festival Arts (DCFA) on Gordon Street, St. Augustine to experience what this vibrant ensemble has to offer.
