The Careers, Co-curricular and Community Engagement Department of the Division of Student Services and Development would like to invite you to a panel discussion entitled, Preparing for the World of Work: Using Transferrable Skills to Navigate the Workplace.
Open to all our current students, it will address perceptions of how we work and conceptualise how the world of work has changed significantly within the last decade and is predicted to continue to change. These changes will require an equally significant adjustment in the skills and competencies employees bring to the workplace and how they use them to navigate the space.
Enhanced cross-functional teamwork and problem-solving, the ability to analyse operations and manage projects, leadership and professional presence in the workplace will be in greater demand for new employees. As part of our World of Work programme, this panel discussion will provide several interventions to prepare students to transition and succeed in the workplace. It will showcase our young alums as they discuss how they used their skills and competencies to navigate the world of work. It targets final-year students but will be open to all our current students as the information is timely and relevant in our diverse university setting.
