Empowering Women To Harness The Power Of Data Science: Inspiring Inclusion Forum

In collaboration with Women in Data Science Trinidad and Tobago and the Pan American Health Organisation, The UWI St. Augustine Campus invites you to the forum, "Empowering Women to Harness the Power of Data Science: Inspiring Inclusion."

In today's data-driven era, the importance of leveraging diverse perspectives in data science cannot be overstated. This premier forum aims to raise awareness of women's experiences in the field, commemorating International Women's Day (celebrated on March 8th, 2024) by promoting women in STEM fields related to Data Science.

This event is set to take place on Friday March 15, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) Auditorium, and aims to share perspectives on gender diversity and empowerment within the data field. It invites participants of all genders to explore diverse perspectives on challenges, opportunities, and successes encountered in the data science community.

Speakers include:

-          Dr. Letetia Addison - WiDSTT Ambassador, Project Officer, University Office of Planning, The UWI, STA  (Keynote Speaker, and Moderator  Panel Discussion)

-          Dr. Talia Esnard - Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Behavioural Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences, The UWI, STA. (Keynote Speaker, Panelist)

-          Dr. Jacqueline Bridge - Senior Lecturer and Head of Department, Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, The UWI, STA. (Keynote Speaker, Panelist)

-          Dr. Rajini Haracksingh - Lecturer, Department of Life Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology, The UWI, STA. (Keynote Speaker, Panelist)Ms. Ebony De Leon - Former Head of Advanced Analytics, Guardian Group, Trinidad and Tobago (Panelist)
