Cocoa Research Centre's Annual Research and Development Symposium

The Cocoa Research Centre (CRC) invites interested persons to attend their upcoming Annual Research and Development Symposium. The Symposium’s first session will be held on Wednesday, May 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the School of Education Auditorium, St. Augustine Circular, St. Augustine. Two online sessions will also be held on Wednesday, June 05 and Thursday, June 06, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. on each day.

The theme of this year’s Symposium is Strengthening The Cocoa Value Chain and Building Sustainability, and CRC will:

-       Present research information on the conservation and utilisation pipeline that is built to support global cocoa breeding initiatives

-       Provide innovations in agronomy, disease management, soil fertility management, food safety risk management to improve the profitability of cocoa farming

-       Share research findings on factors contributing to cocoa quality, flavour diversity including postharvest processing, growing environment etc.

-       Contribute knowledge on novel product development and potential commercialisation opportunities
