Interested persons are invited to attend the Innovation Engine Room: Intellectual Property Law and Innovation, which is being hosted by the Faculty of Law. The Workshop will take place on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Hilton Trinidad and Conference Centre, Port of Spain.
This Workshop will serve as the Launch of collaboration among The UWI St Augustine’s Faculty of Law; the Ministry of Planning and Development and other interested partners, such as The UWI St Augustine Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (STACIE); the Intellectual Property Office of Trinidad and Tobago (IPO); the National Intellectual Property Training Centre (NIPTC); and the World Intellectual Property Organization. This collaboration will focus on raising awareness about intellectual property law and rights and developing resources for the advancement of intellectual property law and policy. Part of this partnership will include various educational and outreach activities be conducted together with academic research.

This event targets:
- Government stakeholders and policymakers in the region and internationally which are involved in work related to intellectual property and innovation;
- Researchers, academics, law students from the UWI and other academic institutions;
- Companies and other businesses working in the Technology, Innovation and Intellectual property sectors; and
- Civic society groups, various NGOs and community activist groups.
