The 4th UWI Oil and Gas Conference

The Faculty of Law at The UWI St. Augustine Campus presents the 4th instalment of the UWI Oil and Gas Law Conference themed “Towards a Just Transition.” The conference takes place on June 28 and June 29 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Hilton Trinidad and Conference Centre, Port of Spain.

At this conference, participants can expect to be provided with  high quality professional training that will build on and develop expert skills in the area of energy transition; energy taxation; jobs and the Just Transition; energy prices and efficiency; energy technology and new growth opportunities; be provided with guidance and assistance to develop capacity and knowledge impacting the oil and gas industry; be provided with a forum for open discussions on the effectiveness of the laws and regulations in the industry in Trinidad & Tobago and to advance legal research in topical issues.

The conference will be facilitated by leading experts in the field of oil and gas law, including local, regional and international energy experts working within the field and in academia such as:

-      Prof. Francesco Cannas, Professor in Tax Law, University of Turin

-      Dr. Alicia Elias-Roberts, Dean, Faculty of Law, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus

-      Dr. Eduardo Pereira, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Law, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, Visiting Professor, University of Eastern Finland and Founder, International Energy Law Advisor Group

-      Mrs. Indira Rampaul-Cheddie, Permanent Secretary, Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Legal Affairs and former Senior State Counsel, Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries (T&T)
