The Faculty of Social Sciences will host a lecturer by Professor Bimon Chand Prasad on “Managing diversity: The experience of the Fiji Islands” on Thursday 29th May at the Faculty of Social Sciences’ Lounge from 6.30 p. m.

Professor Prasad is professor and Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of the South Pacific in Sava, Fiji. He is a graduate of the University of the South Pacific where he did his Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Mathematics and a Diploma in Education (1988). He then proceeded to Australia where he obtained his Master’s degree in Commerce (1991) and his Ph.D. in Economics in 1998. Since that time he has been teaching at the University of the South Pacific in Fiji where he is now Professor, Head of the School of Economics and Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics. He has published extensively on sustainable development, agriculture in Fiji and on development problems of the South Pacific.
