The Principal's Research Awards will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024.

Principal’s Research Awards are presented to the outstanding researchers of the St. Augustine Campus of the University of the West Indies for their contribution during the period 2019-2024. The presentation of research awards titled “Principal’s Research Awards” was launched in 2023. These awards are primarily aimed to recognize the elite researchers at the campus and faculty levels besides encouraging the culture of research on campus among academics and professionals.

This year, applications are open for the following categories:

Campus Level Awards

-          Principal’s Award for Best Researcher

-          Principal’s Award for Most Impactful Community Research

-          Best Team Research

-          Most Outstanding Regional/International Research Project

-          Most Productive Research Department Award

-          Most Productive Research Institute, Centre or Unit Award

-          Principal’s Special Innovation Award

-          Most Promising Early Career Professional Award

-          Most Outstanding Graduate Researcher Award & Mentorship Award

Faculty Level Awards

-          Most Outstanding Faculty Researcher

-          Most Outstanding Researcher of the Centre/Institute/Unit

Open Award

-          Hurricane and Earthquake Alleviation Research (HEAR) Award
