The Trade and Economic Development Unit (TEDU) continues its National Conversations series on Friday, September 27 with a Virtual Seminar on the Pre-Budget Discussion: Does The Level of Crime Derail the Good Intentions of the Upcoming Budget.

This online event will begin at 7 p.m. and focus on sharing perspectives on Tobago’s labour market.

This virtual discussion will bring together experts from economics, criminology, and security to address how rising crime impacts the nation’s economic priorities. Mr. Vivek Charran, Chairman of the Confederation of Regional Business Chambers, will moderate the discussion.

Speakers include:

-          Her Excellency Natalie Campbell-Rodriques High Commissioner of Jamaica to Trinidad and Tobago. (Feature Speaker)

-          Commander Garvin Heera (Security Consultant)

-          Mr. Darius Figuera (Criminologist)

-          Professor Roger Hosein  (Professor of Economics at The UWI)
