The UWI Department of Creative & Festival Arts (DCFA) invites interested persons to their annual student theatre production series themed “New Directors Forum- A Festival of Plays”.
This production will feature student directors pursuing the BA Theatre Arts and reading for the course THEA 3203 - Directing II, taught by Dr Raymond Travis Weekes.
These performances take place at the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) at The University of the West Indies, St Augustine, on Friday, November 22; Saturday November 23 and Sunday 24 November at 4pm & 6pm.
This year's edition of the Festival of Plays will feature the following four (4) plays by the respective student directors:
Friday 22 November :
- 7pm | "The One-Act Play That Goes Wrong" written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer & Henry Shields, directed by Jadon Noel.
Saturday 23 November:
- 6pm | "Good Morning Miss Millie" by Alwin Bully, directed by Amaiya Yeates.
- 8pm | "The Importance of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde, directed by Zion Reid.
Sunday 26 November:
- 4pm | "HerStory" by Arnetia Thomas directed by Joshua Lamy Ramsden. 6pm | "Play Mas" by Mustapha Matura directed by Jovanna Khan.
Tickets for each night will cost $60 for adults and $40 for students. Festival passes are also available at $150 granting you access to all 3 days of the Festival.
