The 4th Central American and Caribbean Japanese Language Speech Contest

Event Date(s): 24/11/2024

The fourth edition of the Regional Japanese Speech Contest, is being hosted for the first time in Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday, November 24 from 10:00 a.m. This prestigious competition welcomes talented students from Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Panama, and Trinidad and Tobago, all united by their passion for the Japanese language and culture.

The Speech Contest offers a unique platform for young learners to challenge themselves, showcase their linguistic skills, and celebrate their achievements in Japanese studies.

Sponsored by the Japan Foundation—Japan’s only institution dedicated to comprehensive international cultural exchange programs worldwide—and supported by the Embassy of Japan and the local committee commemorating 60 years of bilateral relations between Japan and Trinidad and Tobago, this event highlights cultural ties between our nations.

In the weeks leading up to the contest, follow them on social media as we feature short videos from our contestants.

Each participant will share their Japanese language learning journey in both their native language and Japanese, offering a personal glimpse into their dedication and growth. We are also honoured to invite the heads of mission from each participating country, further emphasizing the event's significance in fostering international camaraderie and cultural exchange.

This inspiring celebration of language, culture, and youth achievement is not to be missed. Join us in Trinidad and Tobago as we honour the hard work and creativity of the next generation of Japanese language enthusiasts.
