On Friday, January 24 the Trade and Economic Development Unit (TEDU) will host another thought-provoking instalment of the National Conversations series. This session, titled Can Remittances Become a Viable Development Option for T&T and the Wider Caribbean? will explore the critical role of remittances and diaspora investments in bolstering foreign exchange generation and fostering sustainable development in the region. Against the backdrop of declining hydrocarbon production in Trinidad and Tobago and tourism challenges in other Caribbean economies, this discussion will feature insights from distinguished speakers, including Dr Dilip Rath from the World Bank, Professor Roger Hosein, and Dr. Regan Deonanan from the Department of Economics; and will be moderated by Dr. Anthony Gonzales.
This virtual event will start at 7:30 p.m. and pre-registration is required. Click here to register.
