The UWI’s Department of Creative and Festival Arts invites the public to their annual carnival event, The Old Yard, themed One Family, on Sunday, February 23, 2024, at noon. This year’s event will take place in d Gayelle at DCFA on Gordon Street, St Augustine, which will be transformed into the architectural style reminiscent of long ago.

Attendees will witness portrayals of traditional Carnival characters including Gorillas, Moko Jumbies, Blue Devils and Jab Jabs. This year’s showcase will also feature a Sailor Mas Band as the special act and a live performance from the legendary calypso icon, The Lord Nelson.

This event promises to offer a dynamic mix of a journey into cultural history and a carnival masquerade showcase within the format of a heritage fair.

Tickets are priced at $140.00 for adults and $100.00 for children.
