The Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Technology invites you to participate in its upcoming Analytical Instrumentation Workshop, hosted as part of The UWI's Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) offerings.

Workshop Details:

Location: Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Technology, The UWI St. Augustine Campus

Dates: July 8, 9, 10, 11, 14 & 15, 2025

Time: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.Workshop Fee: TT$3,000 (online payment available; 2.5% bank charge applies)

Overview:

This face-to-face workshop provides practical, hands-on training in three key analytical techniques widely used across laboratories and industries:

- Gas Chromatography (GC)

- High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)

- Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS)

It is designed to:

- Build on undergraduate-level instrumentation training

- Introduce foundational concepts for those with limited experience

- Serve as a refresher for professionals in the field

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to: - Understand theoretical concepts and instrumentation components - Develop analytical methods - Troubleshoot common technical issues - Apply good laboratory practices - Conduct basic sample preparation, introduction, and data processing

Participants who complete the workshop will receive a UWI Continuing and Professional Education Certificate of Participation.
