Arts-in-Action is pleased to present Discovery Camp 2025: Guardians of the Wild, an Applied Bio-Diversity Arts Adventure for children and young people ages 5 to 17. This exciting programme will take place at the UWI–Republic Bank Department of Creative and Festival Arts Building, St. Augustine Campus. Running from July 14 to August 10, 2025, the camp will be held on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
In support of The UWI’s ongoing commitment to environmental conservation and preservation in Trinidad and Tobago, Guardians of the Wild introduces campers to biodiversity and sustainability through the creative arts. Using the disciplines of drama, dance, music, visual arts, and children’s theatre, the programme offers a rich and engaging experience designed to:
- Explore the link between biodiversity, environmental stability, public health, and economic security
- Address domestic environmental issues such as flooding and threats to animal habitats
- Encourage young participants to become advocates for sustainable care
- Provide a fun, hands-on learning environment through imaginative and artistic expression
The camp will culminate in a dynamic youth theatre production titled Wake the Guardians, which will be presented to the public in the Arts-in-Action Youth Theatre Auditorium.
Cost: TT$800 per child
