The School of Veterinary Medicine invites all staff and students to attend an upcoming hybrid seminar presented by Dr. Patricia Pow-Brown, showcasing her MPhil research in Veterinary Clinical Medicine.

The Molecular Detection of Tick and Flea-Borne Pathogens in Dogs and Cats in Trinidad and Tobago, with a Note on the Risk Factors for Humans

About the Speaker 

Dr. Patricia Pow-Brown is a graduate of The UWI, holding degrees in Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine. She is currently pursuing an MPhil in Veterinary Clinical Medicine at the School of Veterinary Medicine, investigating arthropod-borne diseases impacting dogs, cats, and humans. Her research experience includes work at the North Carolina State University and the Koret School of Veterinary Medicine in Israel. 

With over 16 years of experience operating her own Small Animal Practice, Dr. Pow-Brown is recognized for her expertise in managing unusual and complex clinical cases. 

All are encouraged to join this informative session and engage with current research addressing regional animal and human health risks.
