The Faculty of Food and Agriculture will host a one-day event in commemoration of World Soil Day 2025, highlighting the vital role of soil health in sustaining agriculture, climate resilience, and national food security.

Event details

-          Title: World Soil Day 2025: Award and Farmer Training Workshop

-          Date: Wednesday, 10th December 2025

-          Time: 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

-          Venue: University Field Station (UFS)

The programme will include:

-          An opening ceremony featuring a special recognition of Dr. Gregory Gouveia for his distinguished contributions to soil science

-          A technical session with expert presentations

-          Hands-on field demonstrations focused on practical soil management and sustainable farming practices
