About the Presenter
Professor Sarah Elaine Eaton is a Professor and Research Chair at the Werklund School of Education, University of Calgary (Canada). An award-winning educator, researcher, and academic leader, she leads transdisciplinary research teams examining the ethical implications of advanced technologies in education. She also holds a concurrent appointment as Honorary Associate Professor at Deakin University, Australia.
Lecture Overview
In this provocative and forward-looking keynote, Professor Eaton examines the urgent need to integrate generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) into pre-service teacher education. Drawing on global trends, policy developments, and ethical considerations, she challenges cautious approaches to AI in education and calls for a bold reimagining of teacher preparation in a post-plagiarism era.
