Event Date(s): 19/01/2026
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering invites industry professionals, academics, and students to a webinar focused on pedestrian safety and active mobility in the Caribbean. Pedestrians remain among the most vulnerable road users and this session will examine evidence-based approaches to improving safety for those walking and cycling across the region.
The webinar will foster regional collaboration, raise the standard of safety analysis, and inform policy changes aimed at reducing pedestrian risk. For The University of the West Indies, it reinforces its role as a key research hub by translating academic findings into actionable policy, stimulating new research interest, and enriching transportation safety course content.
